Mary Grant Bruch is a well known Australian children's author. The book was a popular as it related to the Australian bush. The book was gifted to the donor's grandmother in 1932. The book was published by "Ward Lock & Co" but it was printed in Great Britain by Butler & Tanner Ltd - Frome and London.

On the inside cover handwritten in faded black ink is "'To Enid, With love and best wishes, from The Rees 'Family'" and at the bottom is "June 13th 1932".
On the spine of the booking stamped in black lettering is "TIMOTHYIN BUSHLAND MARY RANT BRUCE" and at the bottom of the spine is "WARD LOCK & CO"
