Overview

World War Two era trench art Australian coin bracelet. It features five linked sixpences with a threepence at either end. The date range of the coins is from 1925-1936.
Each coin has two small rings soldered to each side through which larger linking rings are threaded. The second coin in the series also has a small link at the bottom to which a linking ring is attached. However, there is nothing joined to it.
At one end, a circular link has been soldered through which a much larger circular ring is threaded. At the opposite end is an elongated link to which a T-piece is soldered. The T-piece is inserted through the large circular ring at the other end to secure the bracelet.

Historical information

This sweetheart bracelet is one of a large number of items in the collection made from coins. These include jewellery such as brooches and bracelets, small photo frames,and other bric a brac.
Many of these items were made by servicemen and could be called trench art. This is sometimes confirmed by engraving on the reverse side of the coins.

Although the dates on these coins do not coincide with World War Two, the newest coin was from 1936, so it must have been made after that date.
