MEDAL: VICTORY MEDALLION, 1919
1919Circular medal with loop and ring through which a red, white and blue ribbon is passed. A female figure in flowing robes is embossed on its face. She stands on a pedestal inscribed 'Peace 1919' and 'Australia'. Two figures (vanquished foes?) are lying at her feet. The reverse has a shield with the words 'The Triumph of Liberty and Justice' on it. It is surrounded by a laurel wreath and is surmounted by a crown. 'Victory' is embossed at the top amidst sun rays. A sailor flanks the device on its left and a soldier on the right. The scroll below reads 'Peace of 1919'.
