Black and white postcard with white border of the SS Miltiades, from Jack Newman addressed to his mother, Mary Newman.

Front:

The image shows the portside view of the troopship, with two central funnels and two masts at the front and rear ends of the vessel.

'SS MILTIADES' can be seen in white lettering above the water in the foreground below the ship.

Reverse:

Handwritten message from Jack Newman to his mother, dated '3/10/16'.

Addressed to Mrs. M. Newman. West Leederville.

In the top right corner of the postcard is a red one penny postage stamp featuring King George V, ink stamped at Salisbury, 1916.
