MEDAL: COMMEMORATING 'PEACE', 1919
1919This medal comes from the Lipfert home, 270 York St, Subiaco, where the family lived from 1910 to 1989. It is a round silver coated medal with loop for ribbon at top. On one side is embossed a wreath, flanked on either side by a sailor and a soldier, and at top by a crown with lines radiating out from it. There are the words 'Victory. The Triumph of Liberty and Justice. The Peace of 1919'. On the other side is embossed a female figure with flowing hair and gown, and the words 'Peace. 1919 Australia'.
