Aluminium, conical shaped jelly mould with symmetrical longitudinal decoration rising to a flat top with four semi-circular decorations on top. Registration No. on lip 'Rd No 893555.'

Historical information

This collection of jelly moulds shows the popularity of homemade savoury and sweet jellies. The first ceramic moulds were made from about 1750, with metal moulds coming into use by 1830. Glass moulds were widely used by the 1930s.
