Overview

Large framed mounted colour print of HMAS Anzac III with a white border on a navy-blue background. The ship’s name is located at the top of the white border, beneath which appears a grey image of soldiers in the process of landing and explosions in the background. HMAS Anzac is sailing below this image with 2 surface/air missiles and a forward gun being fired. The bottom right-hand corner of the print features the crest and motto of HMAS Anzac: ‘United We Stand’. Details of the ship’s commissioning appear on the lower part of the border, along with smaller print promotional information.

Historical information

HMAS Anzac III (FFH 150) was launched on 16 September 1994 by Lieutenant Colonel V. Statham, better known as Vivian Bullwinkle, and commissioned on 18 May 1996. The first of 10 Anzac Class frigates she was built by Tenix Defence Systems at Williamstown in Victoria. HMAS Anzac’s motto is “United We Stand” and she was the ‘First Lady of the Fleet”, being the oldest ship in the fleet between 15 June 2023 and her decommissioning on 18 May 2024.
