c. 1940Hawker Siddeley Aircraft Company Ltd. War Worker's lapel pin. It has brass wings extending either side of a central, gold bordered disc of blue enamel, containing the raised letters 'HAC' in gold.
It has the original buttonhole fitting to the reverse.
Hawker Siddeley Aircraft Company Limited was formed in 1935 through a merger of Hawker Aircraft and Armstrong Siddeley, creating a group that included A.V. Roe & Company (Avro), Gloster Aircraft Company, and Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft. The company became a crucial part of Britain's aviation industry, especially during World War II, producing iconic aircraft like the Hurricane and Avro Lancaster.The company became a founding component of British Aerospace in 1977.
