Boxed metal and enamel R.A.A.F. sweetheart badge

World War Two era metal and enamel R.A.A.F. sweetheart badge with a security chain and safety pin attachment, held within the original jeweller's box.
The brooch features the R.A.A.F. eagle and Kings crown emblem in gold. There is red enamel detailing in the crown, and light and dark blue enamel in the scroll below the eagle. Contrasting, shiny, silver coloured wings or propeller blades with lobed ends extend out each side.
One the left hand end of the reverse is a metal loop holding a chain which terminates in a small safety pin. The hinged brooch fitting is also on the same end, with the pin inserted into a metal holder on the opposite side for attachment.
The dark textured leather look box is rectangular in shape and has two concentric lines around the outside of the lid, the outer of which is painted gold.
Inside the box, the lower side is padded and covered with a dark blue velvet fabric. It has a central horizontal slot in which the brooch is held. The upper side features shiny purple fabric lining, with gold writing giving details of the jewellery company who made or sold the brooch.
The box has a long metal hinge along the back and a metal clasp at the front.
