Katanning Hospital
c. 1910A sepia postcard of a brick bungalow style building which has a wooden shelter for a vehicle, a nurse standing outside the building and a verandah. It has a tin roof and there is a small water tank on the roof, and deck chairs on the verandah. To the left of the wooden shelter are steps which lead to a door.
This picture is of the first public hospital in Katanning, situated in Amherst Street opposite the Catholic Church (2000), it was replaced by the hospital in Adam Street in 1924 and became residential flats known as 'Eldingo' until 2000. Monica Ladyman was an amateur painter in the community and used the postcard for her work.

On the front of the postcard in the bottom left corner in white typed lettering is "HOSPITAL" and below this in brown lettering is "Katanning, W. Australia".
On the back of the postcard in brown typed lettering is "Postcard" and below this "The ADDRESS TO BE WRITTEN ON THIS SIDE. WRITE HERE INLAND ONLY" and in the top right hand corner there is "Printed in Saxony".
On the back of the postcard in brown typed lettering and on the left hand side is "W.J. Rogers General Merchant, Katanning W. Australia".
The postcard was printed and sold by WJ Rogers, General Merchant in Katanning.
