Historical information

The 1937 Perth Carnival, also known as the National Football Carnival, was held at Subiaco Oval and featured teams from Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria. Over 40,000 spectators watched the games, leading to significant damage to the oval facilities as it was not equipped to cope with such a large number of spectators.
