GENERAL EMBROIDERY, CUSHION COVER
c. 1990 - 1999The centre panel on this cushion cover, stitched in the 1990s, by Joy Knight, one of the original tutors
of the Guild, was innovative in its design and techniques used for the period.
The landscape design incorporates several different techniques and assorted fabrics - hand dyed fabric, layering of fabrics, applied elements, hand stitching of Kantha darning, ruching, couching, twisted cord, twin needle machine sewing, and machine zig-zag stitch.
The synthetic green fabric has been used for front and back of cushion cover. Stitched panel in the centre front. A green twisted cord in woollen yarn is couched around the edge of the cushion cover. Zip centre back.
