Overview

A dark-blue baseball cap with a blue fabric-covered top button and blue thread stitched around the eyelets in the crown. Embroidered on the front panel are the interconnected letters 'AL' in white thread. The two inside front panels are lined with white stiffening fabric. It has a grey synthetic sweatband trimmed with white synthetic piping where it is attached to the crown. The underside of the visor is lined with the dark-blue fabric. Cap size is 6½.

Historical information

Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball league and the highest level of professional baseball in North America. One of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada, MLB comprises an equal number of teams from the National League (NL) and the American League (AL). Formed in 1876 and 1901 respectively, the NL and AL cemented their cooperation with the National Agreement in 1903, making MLB the oldest major professional sports league in the world. They remained legally separate entities until 2000, when they merged into a single organisation.
