TOODYAY SHOW AND SHOWGROUNDS c1920

Subcollections
Overview

Black & white photo taken from the original grandstand (burnt down late 1933) , overlooking showgrounds to Mt Anderson beyond.
Clearly seen are many show goers, a marquee, parade ground, horses and cart, plus houses and sheds on far side outside the showgrounds.
One stall has the sign Carter and Barr [who were agents in in Toodyay].
The road to West Toodyay would be beyond the high picket fence in the middle ground that surrounds the showgrounds.
Beyond the high fence is a large residence on the left (which may be one of the Somers houses).
Next to that is what is probably the Somers Sawmill and wagon making workshop. Wagons and a wagon wheel rim can be seen outside. Another shed to the right could be part of the same worksite.
Written in red pen on centre top of photo is 'Toodyay Show about 1920' and to the right of this "Mac Fergie'.
Photo is mounted on a cream sheet which then mounted on grey cardboard.
Could have been in a frarme.
