LETTER TO THE MAYOR FROM B. SCOTT

The letter is addressed to Mr. Ian Blackburn from Mrs. Bell Scott, congratulating him on his re-election as Mayor of the Town of Armadale and inviting him and Mrs. Blackburn to a function held by the Armadale Mundijong Caledonian Society in the Armadale R.S.L. Hall on 26th July, 1980.

The letter was sent to Cr Ian Blackburn congratulating him on his successful election and appointment to the position of Mayor. The letter also invites Ian Blackburn and his wife to the Scottish 'Ceilidh' (traditional Scottish social gathering that often involves dancing and music) to be held at the Armadale RSL Hall on July 26 1980.
Ian Blackburn was a local councilor from 1974-1992 and was Shire president and Mayor from 1978-1986 and again from 1988-1992.

Mr. Ian Blackburn was the first and only Mayor of the Town of Armadale, serving from 1979-1985. Mr. Blackburn also served as President of the Shire of Armadale Kelmscott (1978-1979) and Mayor of the City of Armadale (1985-1986).
