ENVELOPE - ARMSTRONG'S ARMADALE FLORIST
c. 1984yA rectangular white paper envelope, with printed black text top right. In the middle of the envelope front in blue pen is the handwritten address of the envelopes recipient. Triangular flap at back of envelope that covers opening along the top edge.
Armadale Shopping Town opened in 1984 at the western end of Jull street and changed the town centre drastically from small shops along Jull Street to bringing business inside a shopping centre. A portion of Third Road was closed between Church Ave and Jull Street to accommodate the shopping centre. Armstrong's Armadale Florist was one of the early tenants in the new shopping centre, located in Shop 20. The envelope most likely accompanied flowers sent to Mrs Wholagan who was living in Mundijong at the time.

The envelope would have accompanied flowers sent to Mrs Wholagan from Armstrong's Armadale Florists, located in Armadale Shopping Town shop 20. This would have been one of the original businesses to open in the new shopping centre that following its construction in 1984 greatly changed the look of the Armadale CBD from a collection of small shops and shopping arcades to having a large shopping centre with a large carpark dominating the area.
