Receipt for providing 90 dinners at a Mundijong and Districts Caledonian Society Burns Dinner from Armadale Cartering Services in c1961 (most likely 1961 as Jan 28th was a Saturday)
The Burns dinner is a celebration of the life and poetry of Robert Burns and is held near the poets birthday, the 25 January. Burn Dinners or suppers date back to 1801 and traditional feature the reading of Burn's poetry, eating haggis, drinking Scotch whisky and often end with a dance.
