The original owner of the book (from the inscription) is believed to have been Goldsmid Arthur Whitfield (1893-1986).
Note: In 1912, "Nedging", in Toodyay was the name of a property listed in the Brands Directory of Western Australia published by the Government Gazette of Western Australia against the names of GB & Mrs. HM Whitfield.
