Handwritten on the back of the photograph: 'This bell was presented to the Fremantle Lacrosse Club Junior Team in memory of Jack Newman and Billy Marks who died on active service with the A.I.F. by their old playing mates of 1912/1914. Date of presentation 11 March 1932.'
