BULLOCH, JOHN A. CR.

John Bullock was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1867 and came to Australia in 1887. First settling in New South Wales he moved to Western Australia after 10 years. Served in the Boer War.
Owned J A Bulloch coal merchant & the Claremont Fancy Goods Repository, Bulloch Brothers Estate agency on Bay View Terrace and a woodyard. Also listed as a produce merchant by saddler, George W. Hill, who opened a business next door in 1903.
John was a Rechabite and the Superintendant of the Claremont Fire Brigade in 1908.
John was a Town of Claremont Councillor from 1907-1910.
Married Emily Debus. Had daughters Margaret Florence (b.1902) and Emily Gwendoline (b1909) and sons: John Henry (b.1904), Robert Kenneth (b.1906) and Kelvin McGregor (b.1910).
