This agate stone came from a mine near Geraldton. It was shaped for Ethel Clinch at Greenough to be used for darning socks. She passed it on to her daughter Jean Morrison Blood (nee Maley).

This object had stayed in the one family since it was first made. It is an excellent example of the use of natural resources to create a beautiful object for a practical purpose.
