Historical information

The 1937 Australian Baseball Carnival was the 4th year of the national competition and was held in Adelaide, South Australia. Produced in addition to the official programme issued by the South Australian Baseball League, this West Australian Souvenir Programme commemorated Western Australia's entry into the Claxton Shield baseball championship series. The programme cover, with the attached passenger luggage label, is from the baseball memorabilia collection of George Dickinson, a member of the inaugural Western Australian State baseball team. The team travelled to South Australia by train on the Great Western Kalgoorlie-Pirie express.
