Washing Machine, Simpson
c. 1945Green enamel finished top tub fixed to a green painted bottom skirt mounted on four legs fitted with castor wheels. The tub has a green painted pressed metal lid fitted. The washing agitator is three bladed and is made of black Bakelite. The machine is powered by a ¼ horsepower 240v electric motor. It has a black power cord and rubber waste water hose.
The wringer is driven by a vertical shaft, mounted externally on the side of the tub. The top wringer assembly can be rotated out of the way to gain free access to the tub.
