Contextual Information

Sapper Private Talbot Reginald Anderson 1897 - 1952 ( back row, fifth from left) was born and is buried in Busselton.

Talbot was the youngest of Alfred and Jane Anderson's, nee Whelan, five sons, all of whom served during World War 1. Talbot worked as a telegraphist before enlisting, and after being trained at the No. 1 Wireless School in England, he saw active service in France with the Australian Flying Corp's 3rd Squadron. Talbot was awarded the British War Medal No. 20041 and the Victory Medal No. 19129.

Sadly, Talbot's parents saw the return of only four of their sons, with the eldest being killed in action during the Gallipoli campaign.
