Overview

A small colour photograph of the operating theatre at St John of God's Hospital, including other buildings on one side with a crucifix on the wall, and a lawn and circular rose garden in front.
On the reverse is printed in red ink: 'Kodacolor Print / Nov. 71'

Historical information

At the time it was built, this operating theatre was the only brick building on the hospital site. It was state of the art for its time, with a marble floor, sterelizing room and doctors change room. It was later used as a dispensary.
