On the back of the photograph handwritten in black ink is "Mr Herbert Robinson, Mayor of Albany addressing the gathering at Middleton Beach. Behind him in white is Mr JL Cullen M.L.C, then Hon. Cuthbert McKenzie MLC, then Alex Thomson MLA. 9th March 1914.'
