An urn shaped highly glazed pottery vase, made in Australia by Braemore, with a footed base and two curved handles. Glazed in lemon yellow and lime green with a shiny lustre finish.

Historical information

Russell Cowan (1892-1962) set up Braemore Pottery in Waitara, NSW in 1939. Braemore was an active commercial pottery until 1985.

Contextual Information

Original owner of this vase was Gladys Milligan and it was passed down to her niece Kerry Patricia Bowe.

Gladys Milligan lived on Marine Terrace Busselton from the late 1930's. Her husband George Milligan was a returned soldier having lost one leg on the front lines. George worked at the Churchill Park ticket gate for many years. The vase was purchased at Blue's Corner Shop gift department.
