Rocking Horse (red stand)
c. 1945A white coloured wooden horse with grey patches over its body. Grey and brown speckled hair in mane and tail. Black hooves. Brown leather saddle, metal stirrups, red painted stand.
A rocking horse is a classic children’s toy shaped like a horse, mounted on suspended frame.
This rocking horse is mounted on a rigid frame with a suspended swinging motion and is called a "safety stand rocking horse" (or a swing-stand rocking horse). The horse itself hangs from the stationary wooden frame using metal straps or swing irons. A safety stand rocking horse differs from a traditional bow rocker or curved rocker, which sits directly on the floor and requires more sweeping clearance.
