Letter from George Pearson

George Pearson (1833-?) was a clerk convicted of uttering forged bank notes and sent to Western Australia in 1864 (no.7817). At the time of writing this letter he was working at Greenough as a school teacher. Pearson returned to England in 1882.
John Rogers (1828-?) was a miner convicted of rape and sent to Western Australia in 1865 (no.8401). He came to Greenough for work in February 1877.
Arthur Dean was a storeman for John S. Maley at Greenough.

Mr Arthur Dean
Would you oblige me by letting the Bearer, John Rogers, have a half dozen of porter on my account. I had a half dozen yesterday, you can deduct the price of both 18/- from the School account now due.
