Order for a hat from John Eakins
1878hand-written note on a scrap of paper. Has minor insect damage to top.
The writer of this note, John Eakins (1814-1898) was a farmer at Central Greenough.
William Bartlett (1834-1894) was a married English horse-dealer convicted of ravishing a 15-year-old girl. He was sentenced for 15 years and sent to WA on the Hougoumont (convict no.9660). He worked in Perth and Toodyay and then the Victoria District.
