Communications Gallery - Centenary of Royal Australian Corps of Signals

The Postmaster-General (PMG) Buttinski Test Phone (1960s) was issued to Linemen and used when working on aerial telephone lines. The Lineman could clip the test phone to the main line and dial numbers – usually to speak to Test Desk staff.

These objects are located in the Communications Gallery commissioned by the Australian Army Museum of Western Australia as part of the Centenary commemorations of the Royal Australian Corp of Signals.
