Overview

Large man’s handkerchief with stains, holes and foxing. Very misshapen from being used as wrapping. The address is duplicated twice. Once in black ink with cursive writing and then in purple ink which is printed.

Historical information

This handkerchief has been used to store a collection of postcards sent from Pte. Edward Charles MOUCHEMORE 6351 to his ‘sweetheart’ Vera VERGE during the First World War. The handkerchief itself has been used as a post wrapping complete with addresses to Leederville, Western Australia.
