The front of the shopping centre occupies the centre of the print, with the entrance itself slightly off-centre and framed by two pairs of trees. The foreground of the image contains minimalist details of several people and three cars.

Historical information

Concept plan for an entrance into Armadale Shopping Town located between Jull Street, Third Road and Railway Avenue. This concept plan relates to the exansion of the shopping centre in 1988. The drawing featured in an advertorial about the shopping centre published in the Comment News on August 30 1988. It shopping centre first opened om November 5 1984. Construction began in November 1983. In 1982 Armadale Shopping City battled it out with another shopping centre development plan which was to be located on the other side of the railway line. In the end Council gave permission for this shopping centre to be constructed as they did not want people drawn out of the towns commercial centre.

MEDIUM
A artists concept drawing of one of the entrances into Armadale Shopping City the largest commercial development that the Armadale central business district had ever seen. In 1982 and 1983 this proposal and another proposal located on the other side of the railway line were presented to the Shire of Armadale Kelmscott Council. In the end this proposal was accepted with construction beginning in November 1983 and the shopping centre opening on 5 November 1984.
