Overview

This ecru hand stitched needlelace mat illustrates use of buttonhole stitch variations to fill spaces in the design. A central 4 petal floral motif in an oval of spider webs. 4 large flowers, 1 in each corner, are interspersed with leaves and scrolls joined with buttonhole brides.
Scalloped needlelace edge.
Possibly made in China or S.E Asia for tourist trade and export to European countries and Australia.
