Rectangle cream card with black printed text. The card is folded into thirds. Panels 1-3 on the front, 4-6 on the back side. Panel 1 has black typed text [G49 No 095620 / Zuidenga -- / Lammechiena -- / 31 Augustus 1903 / Hoogkerk Gr / Huizenga, L -- / 12 DEC 1941 / GRONINGEN]. The id number is printed across panels 2 and 3. Text typed on panel 2 [Havenstraat 3a]. In bottom right corner is a white square with a finger print in it. Panel three has a large square on left bottom quarter with text around boarder [PERSOONSBEWUS KUSTELOOS PERSOONSBEWUS KUSTELOOS]. Each word forms a side of the square. In the middle is a fingerprint. In top right corner is a round black ink stamp [GEMENTERESTUUR VAN GRONINGEN]. On panel 4 in bottom right corner is a black and white portrait photograph of a woman with hair tied back and wearing a collared top buttoned to the top. Round black stamp over top left corner of image with text [GEMENTERESTUUR VAN GRONINGEN]. Purple paper stamp on right side above photo with text [1043 / CONTROLE]. Panel 5 is blank. Panel 6 has printed purple text under title [PERSOONSBEWIJS]

Historical information

Identity card issued to Lammechiena Zuidenga in Groningen Holland in 1941. Was used up to at least 1943. In 1955. The family moved to Forrestdale in Western Australia. This document was deemed important enough to bring with them when they moved. The family would later settle at 24 Fourth Road in Armadale. Lammie passed away in 1984 age 80

The collection also tells the story of the important impact migrant families and individuals have had on the cultural, economic and social history of the City of Armadale and how they and their descendants became an important part of the local community.
