Their Roleystone property included that is today the Araluen Botanic Park. Sarah died age 83 10 July 1940. The Buckingham family had arrived at the Swan Colony in 1850 aboard the Sofia. They first moved to the Bullsbrook area but in 1857 leased a large tract of land in Roleystone from the Churchman Sisters. The Buckingham's eventually ended up purchasing the land and settling in the area where descendent can still be found. The Buckingham family played an important role in establishing many local businesses and community organisations in Kelmscott in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
