Subcollections
Overview

A sepia photograph of a steam chaff cutter in front of a haystack. The chaff cutter is connected to a steam engine via a conveyor, there is a man in the middle of the photograph leaning on the conveyor belt. There are two men who are sitting at one end of the chaff cutter and when it is operating they would be feeding the hay into the chaff cutter. After the chaff cutter has cut the hay, the chaff then falls into the bag that is hanging off the chaff cutter. When the bag is full then the bag holder is swung out and changed with the other bag holder. There is one man standing next to an empty bag holder, whilst another man is sitting on a bag of chaff. There are bags of chaff in front and to the right of these men. The photograph is mounted on cream cardboard.
