c. 1959This is a black and white photograph of the Breaksea Island lighthouse, which was built in 1901-1902. In the background to the right of the granite tower, you can see the original combined lighthouse building and the keeper's house. The original prefabricated steel lighthouse tower and light have been removed. To the left, you can see the old storerooms and the lighthouse keeper's quarters.
