Overview

This is a picture of the entire school and the 57 children (26 girls & 31 boys) were 6 and 7 year olds. Front row sitting on ground left to right is Names: 2nd row extreme left is Paul, 6th Lawie Standford, 12th Charles Pearson. 3rd row extreme left Tommy Lobbins, 5th left Alice Knight. Back row 7th left Terry Linton, 8th Bill Pike, 9th Alfred Newby, 11th Don Renie.

Historical information

There were four class rooms, the headmaster was Mr Potts. Miss Broomehall was a teacher who kept children back if they did not work well.
The cane was used. For disciplinary purposes. One of the teachers used boiled lollies as an inducement to produce good work.
