GREENS REPLACEMENT PROGRAM 2022

In the spring of 2022 greens 9 to 13 were replaced with the 007 variety of bent grass. During the replacement 300mm of the subsoil of each green was replaced with fresh soil and some minor reshaping of greens surfaces also occurred. The same process was used on the 8th green in 2021. The concept was to have the same grass in consecutive greens to reduce the transfer of poa annua (winter grass) via the green's mowers.

The works commenced on 19th September and all the replacement greens were reopened by 18th November.

The plan was to repeat the process for a further 6 greens in both 2023 and 2024 to complete the replacement program.
