Overview

This series of black and white photographs shows scenes from the official opening day of golf at the club in 1969.

The photographs are scans of hardcopies contained in an album donated by Laurie and Dawn Johnston (Item 2022.343). Although the images in the album are not annotated, comparisons with other images of the opening day confirm that these images were taken on this day.

The photographs show:

1. Carpark and clubhouse: Predominantly Holden and Falcon cars pictured in front of the clubhouse with players teeing off the first tee in the background.

2 & 3. Ron Carroll: Melville City Mayor and club patron teeing off.

4, 5, & 6. Associates teeing off
