POSTCARD: LILLIAN DENNIS, 'BIRTHDAY WISHES TO MY SISTER'

Postcard sent to Lillian Dennis from her sister Olga on her 28th birthday.

Horizontal ivory postcard with a decorative embossed floral border. There is a black printed image on the left hand side which depicts a glass slipper with flowers in it atop a horseshoe. In the top right corner is decorative text which reads 'Birthday Wishes to / my sister'. Below this is a poem in smaller slanted print which reads: 'To my dear and loving sister, / a Birthday wish I send, / Wishing many glad returns and / pleasures without end, / If you could be as happy as I / wish you be / Then no one would / know such happiness as thee / ALLEYN'. Printed in very small type is '877.E' in the bottom left corner and 'BEAGLES POSTCARDS' in the bottom right.

The reverse has the Beagles Best Post Cards stamp in the top centre. A message printed in small black cursive hand writing reads: 'To my dear sister Lillian on her 28th birthday / wishing her many happy returns of the day. Sunday 17th 1915. / with love and best wishes from your loving sister / Olga xxxxxxx / xxxxxxxxx'
