Overview

Postcard sent to Lillian Dennis by her brother Alex for her birthday.

Horizontal ivory postcard with black print of an open book surrounded by flowers. Along the bottom across both pages reads: 'BIRTHDAY GREETINGS / TO MY DEAR / SISTER' in decorative uppercase type. The two pages each have a floral wreath border which sourrounds text. The left one reads: ' MAY YOUR / BIRTHDAY / BE HAPPY / WITH DEAR / FRIENDS AROUND, / MAY PLEASRES / ATTEND YOU / AND GOOD / CHEER ABOUND'. The right page reads: 'MAY / YOU NEVER / BE LONELY / AND NEVER WANT / A FRIEND / AND HAPPINESS / ALWAYS / YOUR FOORSTEPS / ATTEND. / E.HUTCHINGS.' There is a decorative embossed floral border.

The reverse has a handwritten black ink message which reads: 'To My Dear Sister Lil, / wishing her many happy / returns of the Day / from her loving brother / ''Alex'' '. The card is dated '17/10/15' on the bottom left corner.
