Overview

Evening dress, full length in maize coloured crinkle nylon, embroidered in silver thread and with flowers of self material appliqued. The fabric is pre-embroidered and appliqued, with flower appliques removed from the underside of the hem and hand stitched over seamlines. Boat neckline, princess line, back zipper. Dress is lined with maize satin from the neckline to the dress hemline. The full-length sleeves are unlined and partially open, ending in a small band. The dress is handmade, with zig zag edges, not finished edges. Additional notches and darts in the neckline and bodice show the handmade origin of the dress.

Formerly the property of Mrs. Olga C Abrahams nee Browne, wife of Mayor Joseph H Abrahams.
