PHOTOGRAPH: WEDDING PORTRAIT OF MR AND MRS ABRAHAMS AND THEIR ATTENDANTS

1928
Overview

The photograph of the wedding group shows the groom and the two female attendants seated with the bride and male groomsmen standing. The bridesmaids wear knee length frocks with long, white gloves and white lace headdresses. They carry bouquets of flowers. Mrs Abrahams wears a knee length dress with a square neck and short sleeves and sequin detail. The veil forms a cap over the head and covers the shoulders to fall the full length of the body. The dress includes a train. She holds a large bouquet of flowers that includes roses and carnations. The groom and the male attendants wear black suits and white waistcoats, with shirts with wing collars and white bow-ties. They hold their white gloves. On a typed note with the photograph are the words: 'Mr and Mrs Joseph Hyam Abrahams photographed following their wedding on 25th August, 1928, celebrated at the Museum Street Baptist Church. Mrs Abrahams was formerly Olga Browne of Hamersley Road and Joe Abrahams Mayor of Subiaco for 25 years.'
