GENERAL MEETINGS 1985
1985Four General Meetings were held in 1985.
The proceedings of the Annual General Meeting on 28th February included:
- Feedback and discussion on reports from the President, Treasurer and Councillors. Discussion featured the significant drop in member numbers and the clearing of rough areas near the edges of fairways and planned clearing between particular fairways.
- The Vice President noted that Mr M. Day had requested that any proposed amendments to the Constitution be first referred to the Trustees.
A Special General Meeting was scheduled for 16th July to consider motions to:
- Create additional membership categories for Social Members and Corporate Body Members
- Amend the fees for the various Junior membership categories
On the evening of the meeting the President advised those present that a quorum had not been obtained and the meeting was postponed.
The Special General Meeting on 31st October was called to make significant amendments to the Constitution. A newssheet accompanying the meeting’s notice included the entire Constitution document and outlined the main changes as:
2. The Constitution document has been reorganised to clearer describe membership categories and rights. At the same time new categories of House and Corporate Members have been introduced to broaden our income base.
3. Wording throughout has been amended to comply with requirements of the Licensing Court. We also hope that it meets Equal Opportunity requirements.
4. Resignation of Members clause has been rearranged to give specific direction on how to proceed.
At the commencement of the meeting the motion to adopt the new Constitution was amended to allow changes to the document at the meeting prior to it being approved. After several amendments the meeting was closed.
The proceedings of the General Meeting on 28th November considered two motions:
- The election and appointment of the five Directors as per the new Constitution
- Approval of fees for the coming year
… and …
