BSHS Girls Hockey 1964

Irene Greaves: (Goalie). Very reliable, with good clearing kick.

Jean Campbell: (Left full back). Calm, solid defensive player; good clearing shots are excellent backing for team.

Annette Tooke: (Right full back). Sound in defence, tackles well, has strong clearing hit.

Judy Smith: (Left half back). Handles difficult left position with good clearing passes. Inclined to “rest” after having cleared the ball.

Jan Roberts: (Centre half back). Most improved player. Tackles and swings the ball well. Must watch reverse stick.

Beth Stevenson: Captain (right half back). Good position player who is determined and never seems to tire.

Sue Campbell: (Right wing). Game has improved during season. Plays very well in wing position because she gains control of ball. However, should pass sooner.

Diedre Simpson: (Right inner). Tenacious player, tries hard but inclined to wander.

Merrie Palmer: Vice-Capt. (centre forward). Main goal scorer who follows through in circle. Combines well with, and directs forwards.

Jill Yates: (Left inner). Passes well and fights hard. Is always dependable and plays a reliable and intelligent game.

Robin Field: (Left wing). Has made advantageous passes to centre field; combines well with forwards.
