MGGC Ladies' Committee

MGGC ladies (initially titled Associates) form their own Committee at the club.

 

This subject provides a history of those who have served on this Committee.

 

The first elections occurred at a meeting on 16 September 1968 to form the inaugural 1969 Committee. This meeting was conducted by Mrs Joy Renner, herself being elected as the Acting Chairwoman at an earlier meeting on 28 August 1968.  

 

At the club's Annual General Meeting on 25 March 2010 a special resolution was approved by members to appoint a  Director of Lady Members onto the Board to represent women's interests.  

 

Thus, from 2012, the position of Lady President on the Ladies Committee became redundant. The Director Lady Members executes the role of Lady President on the Ladies Committee.

 

The positions recorded in this Subject include:

- the inaugural Ladies' Committee representatives

- then mainly the Lady Presidents (subsequently Director of Lady Members) and Captains
