Women's Silver Spoon
1969 -
This event is open to all players who enter and play five stroke rounds at club level. The best four rounds are calculated and the Gross and Nett winners are sent to Golf WA for processing.
The Nett winners appear on honour boards and represent the club at another course nominated by Golf WA and are awarded Silver Spoons (GWA).
A separate entry fee is required to participate in the Golf WA competition.
Prior to the club's 50th anniversary in 2017 the fields to qualify for The Helfers Medal Shield were composed of just the men's Monthly Medal winners. One of the concepts of the anniversary was 'One Club' to recognise gender equality and thus the Women's Silver Spoon winners were invited to play in the event from that year on, although they were not eligible to win the event.
After qualifying for the Golf WA final, Leanne McVey became the State winner in 2007 to win the silver spoon.
