JACK MANOLIKOS CLAREMONT FISH SUPPLY
c. 1953B/W prints; (a) Jack Manolikos in white shirt, with collar, tie and apron, behind the counter of his Bay View Terrace fish shop. On shelves behind him are bottles of cool drink and hanging scales are above the counter. There are sheets of paper and a hand bell on the counter. A paper chain is hanging from the ceiling behind the scales. On the front of the counter are images of fishing net and fishing boats. (b) The window decorations for the Queen's Coronation in 1953. The window has a tiled base and in the display area are photos of the Queen, Union Jack and Australian flags and striped material around the top.
Jack Manolikos was a Bay View Terrace 'personality' for many years. As owner of the Claremont Fish Supply he was the provider of 'fish & chips', virtually the only 'take-away' food of the era, for the district. Jack Married Kathleen Kikiros in 1939.
